New Artist in Comox Valley-Myshree Tsai
New artist and resident in Comox Valley, myshree Tsai come from Taiwan, March7-25 in Qualicum Beach-The Old School House Art Centre, she will be invited to hold her one man show.
About the Author
Myshree Tsai was born and educated in Taipei, She majored in art and was graduated from National Taiwan Normal University and has won many times with the Watercolor award and other prizes.
She has founded and was elected as the first Chairman of Needle Painting Association, and also a member of the Taiwan International Watercolor Association. Myshree has been elevated to active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists(FCA), has enjoyed huge acclaim in the field of art gallery exhibition although she produces successful works in other media.
She likes to paint flowers and has traveled more than thirty countries. Myshree’s painting is characterized by their vibrant colors and imaginative compositions. Myshree was invited an exhibition in Toronto and Vancouver on behalf of Taiwan in 2007, as well as many examples of her work, she taught watercolor at many community colleges in Taipei. She has published many Watercolor Books.

Myshree will provide thirty paintings. All these art works are related to beautiful flowers in our life and space everywhere, full of brightness、cheer and happiness . The amazing beauties of flowers are expressed through author’s creative and skills. Multi-media such as watercolor、needle-painting and pastels are synthesized in one painting. It’s no doubt people will be joyful to see these colorful and creative works.
What is Needle Painting
Myshree applied the painting and sketch foundations to needle painting, which enables complementation between painting and Chinese traditional embroidery.
Beyond the handcraft barriers, leading toward down the path of pure artistic creations, creations born from traditions bestow abundant freedom and unique fondness upon her masterpieces, Myshree’s needle painting like impressionism art works. Thus being regarded as a major reform in contemporary Chinese needle painting history.
For promoting the awareness of this exquisite art, Myshree Tsai inherited the honor and responsibility by founding the Needle Painting Association in Taiwan six years ago, which currently has over100 members. The needle painting study courses are offered at many community colleges, which have cultivated many needle painting artists.
